Simplify Your WordPress Address To Your Domain Name

This article is a request from my friend who wants to make WordPress Blog and simplify the address by using his domain name, you can call this process with Domain Mapping. In short, the domain mapping will help your wordpress blog address looks simpler than the original address.

There are things you need to prepare:

1. Your wordpress blog (ex: yourblog.wordpress.com)
2. Your registered own domain (ex: yourdomain.info) please make sure that you are the domain owner so you can modify your domain address later. In this article I use my registered domain, but you also can sign up your domain by using wordpress store if you didn’t own one.
3. Acceptable payment (ex: credit cards, paypal)

Okay, now enter your wordpress dashboard and choose the Store menu on the left side:

Choose buy now in the Add a Domain menu like shown above. Enter your registered domain and click Add domain to blog button.

In the confirmation page, you’ll be asked about your registered domain. Just go to the next step by clicking Map domain button to do the payment. Or you can visit the domain mapping instructions link at the page.

Just fill the valid billing information form with your credit cards data or using your paypal account and click purchase.

[2] Changing Name Server

Log in to your Domain control panel and change your Name Server into:

[3] Choose primary domain

After completing the domain mapping payment and configuring the name server, go to your wordpress dashboard and enter Settings -> Domains menu and choose your primary domain.

The domain mapping process maybe takes time, in this process just make sure you already change the your name server in your domain control panel after completing the payment process (step 2).
